Sealing and Cushioning Elastomers

Gaskets are mechanical seals that are designed to fill the gap between two mating surfaces. In fluid processing and handling equipment, they prevent process fluids from escaping the system and contaminants from entering the system. This ensures the system does not waste valuable materials or experience damage from the unwanted materials. Given the critical function gaskets perform in fluid systems, it is important to select the right one for the intended application. One of the key elements to keep in mind when designing and selecting a gasket is the material, which significantly impacts the component 's performance.
Since there are numerous gasket material options available, it can be difficult or daunting to choose the one that best suits your needs. That's why you should partner with Snowlucky Company whoas the knowledge and skills to ensure you receive the right gasket. While gaskets can be made from a variety of materials, one of the top choices is rubber. Rubber comes in a wide range of formulations and grades, each of which offers distinct characteristics that make it suitable for different applications.

Silicon Rubber
Silicon Rubber
Silicone rubber is a versatile material that offers many beneficial properties, including high-temperature performance, transparency, durability, and great electrical insulation properties. It can be used in a wide range of temperatures from -100°F to 450°F. Its long service life makes it a great option for various industrial applications. These features, along with many others, make silicone rubber a highly desired material across several sectors. At Snowluck Company, we manufacture silicone rubber in:

Fluorosilicone Rubber
Fluorosilicon Rubber
Fluorosilicone can function in temperatures ranging from -100°F to 400°F, and it can resist damage from ozone and UV light. When improved chemical resistance is needed, fluorosilicone can work as a substitute for silicone. This material can resist grease/oil, fuels, aromatic chlorinated solvents and bases, and moderate or oxidizing chemicals.
Benifits Thermal Grease does not add mechanical strength to the bond between heat source and heat spreader. Its excellent surface wetting results in low interfacial resistance.

Fluoroelastomer Rubber
Fluoroelastomer Rubber (FKM)
FKM / Fluoroelastomers are high-performance materials with excellent resistance to chemicals and high temperature range offering. A variety of FKM Compounds (A Type, B Type, LT, GLT, etc.) are developed for special / specification applications with higher and special chemical and temperature resistance.

Neoprene Rubber
Neoprene Rubber
Neoprene Rubber, also known as chloroprene, polychloroprene or PC Rubber, is an extremely versatile, multipurpose elastomer that is suitable for a wide variety of applications. This synthetic rubber offers good to excellent tensile strength and resistance to abrasion, weather, petroleum, and oil. These features make neoprene rubber suitable for applications in the industrial, mining and heavy construction, military and aerospace, automotive, wire and cable, food service, and transportation industries. Neoprene rubber is available in a variety of formulations and mechanical properties. Characteristics such as tensile strength can vary depending on the specific compound or formulation of the rubber. In addition to neoprene rubber’s resistance to oil and petroleum products, the material also offers good chemical resistance against alcohol, animal and vegetable oils, LP gases and fuel oils, and refrigerant ammonia.

EPDM Rubber
EPDM Rubber
Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) is a synthetic rubber material with properties that make it particularly well suited for use in outdoor and other harsh applications. EPDM offers a high level of resistance to sunlight, heat, and weather. For Outdoor, UV and applications with Water Contact, EPDM is a popular choice for grommets, gaskets, and tubing.
However, it is important to note the material has poor resistance to fuel, grease/oil, and solvents. As such, it is not suitable for oil and gas or similar industrial applications.
